Vegetable Substrate Trough 17L
The Bato 17-litre Vegetable Tray is a growing medium container specially developed for vegetable cultivation. Thanks to its open-bottom drainage system, this vegetable tray is ideal for efficient water drainage and optimal growing conditions. The tray is primarily used in a double-row growing system. The vegetable tray is designed for growing vegetable crops on organic growing media. This offers a sustainable alternative to rockwool and reduces waste disposal costs. The growing media container is also highly suitable for other types of growing media, depending on the cultivation requirements. The vegetable tray is ideal for growing peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers, but can also be used for other crops such as strawberries.

Flexible choice of substrate and the benefits of an organic growing system
Although the vegetable tray performs exceptionally well on organic substrate, the system is also suitable for various other types of substrate, depending on the specific cultivation requirements. For example, loose organic substrate can be used, which can be easily added using a filling machine. Furthermore, the use of, for example, a coconut fibre mat is also an option.
Organic substrate offers significant advantages over rockwool. As it is composed of several natural raw materials, it fosters a rich and diverse microbiome. This contributes to a more vibrant and healthier growing environment and enhances the crop’s resilience.
With a depth of 10 cm, the top 1–2 cm of most organic substrates remain relatively dry. This is due to the natural capillary action within the substrate. This property contributes to a stable and balanced distribution of moisture in the root zone.
